我来无责任乱解读一下，触摸区域是设计在机器的背面，也就是显示屏相对的背面。
传统的触摸屏有一个弱点：当你在用手指或者手写笔之类的辅助工具触摸屏幕同时，也会遮蔽住部分屏幕。而将显示屏与触摸感应区域分离，在触摸的时候并不是直接在显示屏上面进行，这样就不会将画面遮挡住了。至于其可操作性，没见到实物谁都只能靠猜测。现在已经找到了技术支持，视频在最后面。

Sony目前设计的下一代PSP的大小和PSP-3000差不多，并且在机器的背面设计了触摸控制。
根据见过并使用过新型PSP的人的3份独立报告称，新型PSP的屏幕是华丽而精细的，但是最引人注目的还是其实操作方式：通过屏幕背面的一个触摸感应区域来控制。
Sony向媒体展示了尚未完成的设备，使用的是几款第一方的游戏，并且已经为其设备设计好了商业模式。不过这些都不会在本周的科隆游戏展上向公众展示。
一位提供消息的人士估计新型PSP会在2011年年底之前问世，而另一位就没有那么乐观了，他认为至少在两年之内我们都无法见到新型PSP的真容。而Sony也并没有明确指出它何时会推出现有平台(指PSP)的后续机种。
据称Sony在为其新型PSP设计光盘储存的解决方案，不过这一切都要根据开发厂商的反馈来决定。事实上像PSPgo那样支持闪存媒体会更靠谱一些。

Sony’s current vision for the next-generation PlayStation Portable is roughly the same size as the PSP-3000 and has touch controls on the reverse of the unit. Sony is showcasing the unfinished handheld to publishers at the moment using several first-party games and has already settled on its business model for the device, which was not shown to the public at gamescom this week.One source told us he expects it to launch by the end of 2011, although another was less convinced, believing we won’t see anything for at least a couple of years. Sony has not specified when it will release a successor to the current platform. It’s thought that Sony considered a disc-based storage solution for the new PSP, but has since decided against it following developer feedback. Flash media support, similar to the PSPgo, seems most likely.
